JoAnna Geffert, Ninetta (cover)

Lauded for her "winning performance" by Opera News, mezzo-soprano JoAnna Geffert brings her notable versatility and character work to the stage. During the NYC Arts Scene shutdown of 2020/21, she appears in the socially-distanced mixed-genre production of VOYEUR: The Windows of Toulouse-Lautrec, one of New York City's only two recurring live theatrical productions (Bated Breath Theatre Company).

During the 2019/20 season, Ms. Geffert appeared as Auntie Duck in Shostakovich's The Tale of the Silly Baby Mouse (OnSite Opera), Mrs. Gobineau in The Medium (City Lyric Opera), Nichette in Madeleine (Victor Herbert Renaissance Project), Leonor in La Favorite (New York Opera Forum), and the titular role in Rinaldo (NYOF). With Long Island Lyric Opera, she covered Suzuki in Madama Butterfly.

Other notable appearances by JoAnna include Dame Hannah in Ruddigore (Village Light Opera Group), Ninetta in Orange Blossoms (VHRP), Hansel in Hansel and Gretel (SingThrough Central), Dr. Johnson in On the 20th Century (VLOG), Princess Floria in The Enchantress (VHRP), and Nelly Box in Martha (Utopia Opera).

Her upcoming projects include a 2021 recital and ongoing appearances in VOYEUR.
