Tony Bellomy holds degrees in both piano performance and vocal accompanying and has coached and played for the Florentine Opera Company and the Skylight Opera Theatre, both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; the Little Opera Theatre of New York; New Jersey Verismo Opera; and Encompass New Opera Theatre. Tony has also conducted for New York Lyric Opera (Hansel & Gretel, Don Giovanni, Cendrillon, L’elisir d’amore and Le nozze di Figaro) and has served on its Casting Committee and Musical Board of Directors. His lifelong love of choral music has led to wonderful collaborations with many amazing singers and such notable choral conductors as David Willcocks and Helmuth Rilling. Since 2005 he has appeared in recital with singers throughout the New York area and the Northeast and serves as the Associate Conductor for the Grace Choral Society of New York. By day, Tony is Vice President of Operations for Gurr Johns, Inc., an international appraisal and art advisory firm headquartered in London and New York.
