La Dame Blanche Auditions

 

We are announcing auditions for our upcoming concert performance with full orchestra of Boïeldieu’s LA DAME BLANCHE. We invite submissions for artists appropriate for these roles with our company. 

 

Boïeldieu - LA DAME BLANCHE  (sung in French)

Performance: Saturday, May 28, 2022, 7:00 PM

** Concert style - Music stands will be on the stage, but singers are expected to use them only as a reference.

 

Roles Available

PRINCIPAL ROLES:

Anna - Full Lyric Coloratura Soprano 

 

Jenny - Soprano

 

Marguerite - Mezzo-Soprano

 

Georges Brown (Later Julien) - High Lyric Tenor with some movement. Could be designated a “Rossini tenor”

 

Dikson - Tenor or Baritone.  Though classified as a tenor, the role sits largely in the baritone range.  

 

Gaveston - Bass

 

SECONDARY ROLE:

Mac-Irton - Bass

Since our incorporation in 2016, NAO has produced critically acclaimed concert performances of Fidelio, La forza del destino, Hérodiade, I Vespri Siciliani & La Favorita (named Best Opera in Concert 2018 by WQXR’s Fred Plotkin).  

 

New Amsterdam Opera offers two tiers of performance honoraria, $500 for leading roles and $300 for secondary roles.  After the performance, singers will receive select video footage from the performance that can be freely shared.
